Comfortable rooms, a perfect city centre location, and one of the most exciting dining experiences in Bath – that is the philosophy of The Abbey Hotel. Privately-owned, and recently taken over my acclaimed hoteliers Ian and Christa Taylor, this three star Regency property is located in North Parade, close to the Abbey and Pump Rooms, and the famous Sally Lunn’s. With 60 bedrooms of varying sizes, it is ideal for those visiting Bath for leisure or for business. All rooms are en suites, the hotel has a lift, and there is a spacious bar and lounge for guests and non-residents, serves drinks, teas, and coffees throughout the day.
The most exciting revolution has taken place in the kitchens at the Hotel, under new head chef, Chris Staines, formally of the Michelin-starred Foliage in London. Chris has also worked with Marco Pierre White and was executive Head Chef at the Feversham Arms in Yorkshire. Chris has launched The Allium Brasserie. Brilliantly informal and relaxed, The Allium serves lunches, afternoon teas and dinner from 12 noon. On warm days, the pavement terrace is busy with diners enjoying the lunch menu whilst watching the world go by. The menu is seasonal and varied, including sharing plates, salads, inspirational main courses, and desserts. All this is matched with a carefully chosen wine list including some interesting boutique vineyards.
Located so close to the Thermae Spa in Bath, the Abbey has a range of packages that include entrance to the Spa. Guests can also enjoy Family packages and celebration weekends, and packages linked to many of Bath’s festivals and events. The Reception team can also suggest itineraries so you make the most of this beautiful World Heritage Site City.
