Bath Fringe Festival

Now in its 17th Year, the Bath Fringe Festival is an explosion of artistic and creative activity, which opens alongside the Bath International Music Festival on Friday 22nd May 2009 and runs for the next 16 days with events in over 30 venues across the city.

The Bath Fringe maintains its independence, both of spirit and offer, and over the years has developed artforms, events and audiences that have in many cases become mainstream, whilst others have been taken on and commercialised by other promoters and festivals.

'Affordable Art', Spoken Word, Digital Arts & Media, Standup Comedy, Cabaret, Physical Theatre, Circus Arts, Folk & World Music, Latin Dance, Jazz, and the serious presentation of major figures from Pop, Rock and Black Music have all been Bath Fringe centrepieces, some of which have been maintained and others developed elsewhere. That's part of its nature.

The Bath Fringe line-up for 2009 will provide audiences from the very young to the still young-at-heart with contemporary and world music from the well-established to exciting breaking new acts as welll as comedy, dance, street theatre and creative arts.
